Igniting the light of sci-tech innovation and unlocking new-quality potential: CEEG R&D Center grandly opens!

On July 8, the grand opening ceremony of the CEEG R&D Center was held in Nanjing. Dr. Lu Han, Chairman and President of CEEG; Mr. Yang Yongming, Manager of the North China Region of TÜV's Power Transmission and Distribution Division; CEEG executives; heads of departments of the manufacturing company; and heads of departments of the Nanjing operations center attended the ceremony.

Lian Junshan, Deputy Party Committee Secretary of CEEG, presided over the ceremony. Director Li, Executive Director of the R&D Center, spoke on behalf of the R&D team, and invited guest Director Yang of TÜV delivered an address and presented the accreditation plaque to CEEG. With salutes sounding and confetti flying, and witnessed by numerous guests and colleagues, Chairman Lu of CEEG and Director Yang of TÜV jointly cut the ribbon for the grand opening of the R&D Center.

Where are the technology trends of the power transmission and distribution industry heading? How can the power industry raise quality and speed in digital development? How will CEEG lead innovation in the industry ecosystem?

At the opening ceremony, CEEG answered with three keywords.

Keyword One: Independent Innovation

In this era of rising tides, CEEG seeks change through the "new" to tap the potential of scientific innovation; pursues quality through the "excellent" to find momentum for upgrading; and marches ahead through the "fast" to pool the "synergy" of key elements. CEEG has always followed the national innovation-driven development strategy and actively joined the wave of innovation, gripping the "golden key" of independent innovation and igniting the engine of innovation with the hand of change.

For more than 30 years, CEEG has focused on the technology and R&D of power transmission and distribution products, imprinting vision, innovation and responsibility on every R&D project and product.

1995-2000: in partnership with DuPont, pioneered the "paper-made transformer" — the SG open-type dry-type transformer;

2002-2005: partnered with Southeast University, China University of Mining and Technology, Jiangsu University and other universities to develop "Key Technologies for Intelligent Mining Explosion-Proof Mobile Load Centers and Their Industrialization";

2006-2009: developed 110kV traction transformers for electrified railways and achieved localization of air-water cooled dry-type transformers dedicated to large ships and offshore platforms;

2010-2019: developed products including 54-pulse high-voltage frequency-conversion dry-type transformers and three-phase three-limb anti-harmonic transformers; partnered with the academician team of the Institute of Electrical Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and State Grid on pioneering research into gas-liquid dual-use evaporative cooling transformer technology, winning a national major industrial technology project;

2020-present: developed new energy-efficiency transformers, integrated energy-storage step-up power conversion units, rectifier transformers for green hydrogen production and other products, now sold widely at home and abroad.

The grand opening of the CEEG R&D Center marks a new stage of development for the company's research work. CEEG will firmly grasp the strategic core of advancing with digitalization, growing through innovation, bravely scaling new heights in technological upgrading, and pressing hard to seize the commanding heights of industry development worldwide.

Keyword Two: High-Quality Development

Innovative use of Nomex® insulation paper, the pioneering three-phase three-limb structure for amorphous alloy transformers, and the flameproof transformer enclosure with active cooling tubes... Relying on these core technologies and oriented by national strategic needs, CEEG continues to conduct forward-looking, original and leading research, contributing greater strength to the high-quality development of China's power industry.

Taking every step of technological innovation in a solid and steady manner, CEEG has successively earned the titles of National Innovative Enterprise, Asia's Top 500 Brands, Jiangsu Private Science and Technology Enterprise, CNAS national laboratory accreditation, the Witness Laboratory qualification certificate issued by TÜV Rheinland, Jiangsu Accredited Enterprise Technology Center, and Jiangsu Specialized, Refined, Distinctive and Innovative SME and other honors.
