Learning from the Past, Planning Ahead | CEEG Holds Its 2025 Strategic Planning Meeting

As the year draws to a close, from December 3 to 5 CEEG held its 2025 strategic planning conference under the theme "Recruiting Self-Starters, Finding New Markets, Entering New Tracks". Participants pooled their ideas to sharpen the company's overall strategic goals for 2025 and improve its management planning and layout.

Senior company leaders, heads of functional departments of the Operations Center, leaders of subsidiaries and marketing teams, and representatives of the Binjiang and Jurong plants attended the conference. Lian Junshan, Deputy Secretary of the CEEG Party Committee, presided over the meeting.

In his opening remarks, Secretary Lian said the conference was not only an occasion to review the past but, more importantly, an opportunity to look ahead. He asked participants to step back from day-to-day routines andexamine themselves from a higher perspective, embrace change with broader minds, and plan the future with deeper thinking. He expressed the hope that the conference would build consensus and unlock potential, charting a more ambitious blueprint for the coming year and paving a broad road to success.

01. Learning from the Past

In turn, representatives of each department took the stage to review and summarize their teams' 2024 work and present their strategic plans for 2025. Taking a problem-oriented approach grounded in digital development, they put forward a comprehensive, insightful and constructive series of opinions and suggestions.

The presentations moved from specific points to the bigger picture, from individual teams to the company as a whole. Addressing both strategic vision and practical execution, they clarified work priorities through summary and review, uncovered new paths for the enterprise through the exchange of ideas, and aligned thinking through forward planning, offering valuable reference for the company's development agenda next year.

02. Expert Commentary

After the team leaders' presentations, Sun Xiaowu, Senior Advisor and Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Gao Xiang, Assistant to the President, and Zong Hongqi, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, offered insightful commentary on each department's presentation.

Mr. Sun pointed out thata strategic planning conference must blend vision with practicality — grounding vision in reality and uniting the two. All participants must continually deepen the professional knowledge and skills their positions require. At the same time, he encouraged everyone to explore more efficient ways of working and to make the most of existing resources for optimal allocation. Mr. Sun also stressed the importance of standardized management, noting that to advance further along the path of standardization, the company must establish and refine its management systems and standard processes, improve work efficiency and quality, and ensure more standardized, efficient operations.

Mr. Gao noted that enterprises at different stages of development inevitably face their own distinct challenges and difficulties — a normal part of growth. In facing them, we need the courage to explore, advance steadily through trial and refinement, and continually verify and adjust strategies in execution to ensure sound development. He required all departments to work closely together while maintaining strict oversight, ensuring that every task puts the company's interests first and advancing the enterprise under the principle of "bold exploration, collaborative effort and results first".

Secretary Zong noted that the conference should stay closely anchored to actual business conditions: by drawing deeply on operating experience and applying systematic thinking and management methods, planning should guide practice. The core of the conference is "discussing vision through the lens of reality" — combining concrete operational issues with long-term planning so that strategic discussion distills the business thinking that will guide future development. He required everyone to center their thinking on business results, start from the customer's perspective, anduncover new markets and discover new tracks on the path to solving problems.

A long journey calls for vigor, and heavy responsibilities call for renewed effort. In the new year, CEEG will press forward with fearless courage and untiring energy, rallying the fighting spirit of "striving to be second to none in everything" and the ethos of "spurring ourselves on without being driven".
